Gov. Malloy, Stamford mayor honor National Federation for the Blind

Stamford officials joined together Sunday to honor a nonprofit organization that supports the blind.
In honor of Blindness Awareness Month, two proclamations were given to the Southwest Chapter of the Federation for the Blind.
The group met at the Stamford Government Center to talk about the progress they've made within the community. They say the proclamations from Mayor David Martin and Gov. Dannel Malloy recognize their hard work and commitment to helping others.
Members of the Federation for the Blind say they have people from ages 6 to 86 and they all are able to help each other.
A guest speaker from Israel who is making technological strides for the blind was also at the event.
