NYPD: Man wanted for chokehold robbery of woman in Brownsville

Police are asking for the public’s help in their search for the person who they say attacked and robbed a woman in Brownsville earlier this month.
The incident happened on Tuesday, Oct. 2 around 3 p.m. inside the Rockaway Avenue 3 train subway station.
Police say the 24-year-old victim was walking through the station when a man came up behind her, put her in a chokehold and ripped up her necklace.
He then shoved her down to the floor and ran out of the area.
Police say that he took off into the courtyard of the Marcus Gravy Village housing complex on Chester Avenue.
He’s described as being in his 40s around 5’11”, about 250 pounds and bald.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
