Basement haunted house brings spooks to Bed-Stuy for over 2 decades

BED-STUY -

A Bed-Stuy family has transformed their basement into a haunted house for Halloween.

The Alleynes, now nicknamed the Adams family of Bed-Stuy, have been operating the spooky holiday tradition for more than 20 years.

"It was an accident, it led into this thing as started to go on, as we just started thinking that the basement was a scary place," says Shem Alleyne, creator of the basement haunted house. "This house is from 1899 so it’s over 100 years old, so we always joke of the idea of it being haunted."

The family tells News 12 they hope to keep up the Halloween festivities going for years to come.
