NYPD: Man shot in leg, abdomen inside BX tobacco shop

A man is recovering after being shot in the leg and abdomen Tuesday.
It happened at the King of New York Tobacco Shop on East 167th Street between the Grand Concourse and Sheridan Avenue.
Police say this man went into the store just before 5 a.m. and tried to rob another man inside.
They say the suspect didn't seem to know the victim, pulling a gun on him and demanding his cash.
Instead of handing it over, that's when they say the 34-year-old victim resisted, but the attacker didn't back down, shooting the man twice in the stomach and once in the right leg.
Police tell News 12 the victim is in stable condition at the hospital and is expected to recover.
Police say that the suspect ran away, but that they don't know which direction he went and that they don't have anyone in custody at this time.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
