The Brooklyn father convicted of beating his daughter to death on Father's Day last year was sentenced Wednesday to 25 years to life in prison.
The District Attorney's Office says Shaquan Taylor, 20, beat his 16-month-old daughter, Nylah, during a visit. They say it happened at his Coney Island apartment. Prosecutors say Nylah suffered skull fractures that were intentionally inflicted by Taylor.

During the trial, the girl's mom, Tammy Lewis, testified that she dropped Nylah off and said when she went back her daughter was on the couch unconscious with bruises.
The district attorney says when Lewis tried to leave with Nylah, Taylor attacked her too.
Lewis's grandmother Janice Munford says it's been very hard for Tammy. Munford says she is happy with the verdict.
