Police: Pedestrian in critical condition after being struck on 8 lane intersection

Police say a pedestrian was struck by a car on a busy eight lane intersection under the Brooklyn Queens Expressway late Friday night.
Cars on that road are able to drive up to 50 miles per hour, according to data released by the DOT.
Officials say they responded to a 911 call close to midnight about a man being struck by an oncoming vehicle.
They say their preliminary investigation shows the victim is around 30 years old and that the 2016 Chevy Camaro that hit him was operated by another man of the same age.
The driver remained on the scene after the incident.
News 12 Brooklyn was told the victim was transported to Lutheran Medical Center where he remains in critical condition.
Police say the investigating is ongoing, and that no arrests or summons have been made at this time.
