One man in the Bronx is singlehandedly trying to change his community one meal at a time.
Chef Maurice Mitchell delivers food to the homeless at least once a month.
The Bronx native went to culinary school to become a chef and has been cooking for about six years.
He makes homemade meals and brings them out to people on the street. He says the work is worth it and doesn't cost him much.
He's hoping to influence others to give back.
"If you're home and you're watching this, and it inspires you to give back, then I tip my hat to you," says Chef Mitchell. "Just know that you don't have to come out and give out food like I'm doing or give out money, you can give back however you want to give back."
Mitchell says his next goal is to open a food truck in New York and Miami, so he can help his community even more.
