Wet and messy: Wintry mix takes aim at Brooklyn

Brooklyn residents are preparing for the first wintry weather of the season, which is expected to arrive Thursday afternoon.

News 12 meteorologists say residents should get ready for a messy Thursday with a combination of wet snow and sleet beginning during the early afternoon hours.

It is expected to change over to rain by the evening commute and last through early Friday.

Forecasters say that temperatures will remain in the 30s until Friday, and then return to the 40s over the weekend.

The city is suspending alternate side parking rules for Thursday to facilitate snow cleanup.
