A street in the city is one step closer to being named after The Notorious B.I.G.
On Wednesday, Community Board 2 in Brooklyn voted in favor of co-naming a street in Clinton Hill Christopher Wallace Way, in honor of late local hip-hop legend, Biggie Smalls.
Leroy McCarthy initiated the proposal a few years ago and is excited about the news.
“This is a long process. It started in 2013 so finally now in 2018 the vote is yes,” says McCarthy. “This is dope. I think for the kids and you know the young people growing up people from Brooklyn this is going to be big.
The application will now go to the City Council, then the mayor. Once it's signed the dedication should happen.
McCarthy is hoping the dedication will happen around May, in time for Biggie's birthday.
