Shoppers were out scooping up products at a pop-up shop in Clinton Hill on Saturday.
More than 20 vendors participated in the event hosted by Black-Owned Market. All of the brands are locally based, selling items like candles, ties and more.
Founder Michelle Dalzon of BOM first started the pop-up event back in 2016 as a way to create a space where black-owned businesses had an opportunity to showcase their products to the community. Dalzon hosts the pop-up twice a year at Shell's Loft, and people from all across the city stop by to support the participating businesses.
Alchemy Body Shop owner Veronica Smith, who makes handmade candles, says pop-up events like this one help grow her business. She hopes to one day own her own space.
