#N12BK: Giving Tuesday

Posted: Updated:
BROOKLYN -

This is the season to give back and today is Giving Tuesday.

It is celebrated every year on the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving to kick off the charitable season.

People can donate their time or money to community organizations.

The The Bronx County Historical Society helps keep the history of the borough alive. It is giving out calendars for people who donate $5.

The Pregones/Puerto Rican Traveling Theater is also accepting donations to help Puerto Rico one year after the hurricane.

#BrooklynGives is collecting donations to distribute to Brooklyn-based organizations.

People are also able to donate their time at some of the borough’s animal rescue nonprofits.

People interested in getting involved can search for nearby organizations on Giving Tuesday’s website.

What will you be giving this Tuesday?
