Missing dog found in Florida reunites with Brooklyn family

Christmas came early for one family in Canarsie after being reunited with their dog that had been missing for 18 months.

Sinatra, a blue-eyed Husky, was found last week near a home in Seffner, Florida, just about 20 miles from Tampa.

Lesmore Willis says Sinatra was a gift for his daughter Zion's 14th birthday. Tragically, Zion was killed in the Bronx two years later. Then more than a year after Zion's death, Sinatra went missing. Willis says the dog escaped when a delivery man left a gate open.

The Willis family searched for Sinatra for months. They posted flyers and reported him missing, but he never turned up.

The family in Florida where Sinatra was found says they went to a local pet resource center to check his chip and launched a campaign to locate the family.

It's still a mystery how Sinatra ended up in Florida. Sinatra was reunited with his family Monday and is back home in 'New York, New York.'
