EAST FLATBUSH -

Activists were protesting outside of a nail salon Friday that reopened for business months after a brawl took place there in August.

The Happy Red Apple Nail Salon previously shuttered after three customers say they were attacked by employees with broomsticks during a dispute about payment.

The district attorney tells News 12 Brooklyn that charges that were initially pressed against one of the customers has been dropped, while charges against one of the salon workers are still pending.

Protesters say they noticed employees in the nail salon for the first time in months on Thursday, so they assembled early Friday morning to see if it would re-open.

The salon remained closed for nearly four months.

The owner of the nail salon declined to comment, but through a translator he told News 12 Brooklyn he decided to open back up because he needs the money due to being out of business.
