Bed-Stuy community rallies to 'Stop shooting, start living'

Community members and activists rallied Thursday against gun violence following two deadly shootings just blocks away from each other.
Two separate rallies were held at the scene of each shooting. One was at Marcus Garvey Boulevard and Pulaski Street, and the other was on Myrtle Avenue near the Sumner Houses.
Participants marched through the streets while chanting "Stop shooting, start living."
Both shootings happened earlier this week. The first one unfolded around 2:20 p.m. Tuesday on Marcus Garvey Boulevard. Investigators say 21-year-old Jahlil Grant was killed after being shot in the neck. A 22-year-old was also injured.
Then on Tuesday night, police say a 35-year-old man was shot in the head and killed about a mile and a half away from the first shooting. Police have not confirmed the victim's identity, although family members say it was Tyree Walker.
Police are offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to a conviction in the shooting death of Grant.
