Milford man uses social media to alert friend of Christmas home invasion

A Milford man used social media to tell a friend he was in danger after three people broke into his home and held him at gunpoint on Christmas, police say.
The incident happened Tuesday inside of a West Main Street home around midnight.
Police say Cassandra Vitale, 26, of West Haven, and Sean Artis, 32, of New Haven, along with two other men broke into the home and threatened to shoot the man if he didn't pay a debt he owed.
Police say the victim was able to send a message through a social media messenger account to a friend about the incident, and the friend was able to call police.
Police arrived to find Vitale and Artis inside the home, but say the two other men who were with them had left.
Investigators say they found a BB gun on Artis.
Both Artis and Vitale face multiple charges, including home invasion and possession of crack cocaine.
They are being held on $200,000 bond and are expected to appear in Milford court.
