Two swastikas were sketched onto the walls of the Midwood apartment of a 77-year-old Jewish woman this weekend, police say.
The woman tells News 12 that a neighbor knocked on her door around 4 p.m. during the Jewish Sabbath to inform her of the images.
She says the swastikas were drawn in red marker on the outside of her front door.
The super of the building says he is responding to the incident by placing cameras in the building.
The woman says she is saddened and afraid to have experienced such hate in the place that she has called home for 30 years.
Officials say the incident comes after a number of recent anti-Semitic incidents throughout the borough, including in Crown Heights and Borough Park.
The swastikas have been removed from the wall and the incident is being investigated by the NYPD’s Hate Crimes Task Force.
