Best of the Bronx: Bronx dad inspires through Twitter

A Bronx dad who is usually busy inspiring his followers on Twitter found some inspiration of his own through Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s daughter.
Joel L. Daniels, aka @JoelakaMaG, often tweets to his more than 33,0000 followers about childhood trauma, mental health, fatherhood, parenting, love and other topics.
Dr. King’s daughter Bernice then sent him a tweet saying that he should compile those messages into a book. And that’s what he did. His book, “God Wears Durags, Too, and Other Affirmations From My Twitter Feed” was released on Dec. 10.
“I wanted to keep it small, short, concise so that people could have somewhere to go, where they didn't have anywhere to go,” he told News 12.
The Twitter feed has gained Daniels some celebrity fans, such as Lin-Manuel Miranda.
