A Brooklyn woman launched a startup company to help parents who are having trouble finding affordable, quality child care.
Manisha Snoyer, who worked as a teacher in three different countries, says she noticed a lot of parents struggling to afford child care so she decided to do something about it.
“If there are any families out there looking for free child care activities even this weekend, there's some really great activities that they can sign up for,” says Snoyer. “This is a way for parents to save potentially thousands of dollars doing what they’re already doing, watching their child and just bringing some other children into the mix.”

She launched KidsClub.io, a website where parents can sign their children up for playdates with the best baby sitters she knows, other parents.

“It’s a way for parents to coordinate play dates, get child care for free and also make new friends,” says Snoyer.

In return, every parent has to host at least one three-hour play date a month for at least one other child or as many as 10. They can keep it as simple or as creative as they’d like.

“It can be as simple as movie and a pizza or if a parent has special talents and they want to get creative they can host a singing workshop or robotics or coding, whatever they want to offer,” says Snoyer.

The site launched on Jan. 15 and already almost 200 parents signed up, and Snoyer says they have lots of big plans in store.

“We just launched in New York City, and we are hoping to expand all over the U.S. and serve millions of families,” says Snoyer.
