Car crashes into Cropsey Ave. deli, woman in custody for allegedly slapping driver

A car smashed into a Bath Beach deli Thursday while it was filled with customers.
Most of the storefront is now in the dumpster after a 72-year-old woman drove right into the deli around 9 a.m.

A woman who was driving a FedEx truck told News 12 a Nissan Sentra cut her off down the street on Cropsey Avenue.
According to police, after that truck hit the Nissan Sentra, the 72-year-old driver made a left turn right into the deli, hitting the gas instead of the brakes.
Witnesses tell News 12 the driver of the Nissan Sentra then reversed into a pole in the parking lot before going right back into the deli for a second time.
According to police and witnesses, a woman who was a frequent customer at the store slapped the 72-year-old in the face after the crash, breaking her glasses.
The woman, 47-year-old Susanne Pulizzi, is being charged with criminal mischief and harassment.
After the crash, one person was taken to the hospital and a second person who was injured refused medical treatment.
