Suspect in assault, robbery of 4 homeless men in Borough Park facing charges
Officials say one of the five suspects in the assault and robbery of four homeless men in Borough Park is facing charges.
Jesus Guadalupe, 29, has been charged with assault, robbery, gang assault, criminal possession of stolen property and harassment in connection to the attack that happened outside 100 260th Street around 6:45 a.m. on Feb. 23.
Police say Guadalupe is one of five suspects who punched and kicked the men, who were sleeping. News 12 is told the suspects demanded money from the men but only escaped with $5.
One of the victims, a 42-year-old, is still hospitalized and remains in critical condition.
Police say Guadalupe was already in custody for a prior incident along with 25-year-old Adolfo Romero, who will also face charges in the attack.
Officials say they're still trying to track down Basilio Zacharaya, along with two other suspects they're close to identifying.
