NY lawmakers pass school bus camera bill to catch drivers disregarding “stop” sign

New York lawmakers passed a bill that would allow cameras on school buses to capture drivers who illegally pass them while students are boarding or getting off.
The cameras will be placed on top of the “STOP” arms that extend from buses.
Now, drivers caught on camera would face a $250 fine.
The measure will be brought up for a vote in the senate after the state budget is passed.
