A Crown Heights restaurant that left a bad taste with the community appears to have closed.
The establishment, formerly known as Summerhill, sparked outrage two summers ago by promoting what resembled a bullet hole in its wall.
News 12 couldn't confirm the closing with the owner.
Bklyner reports they were clearing out inventory nearly two weeks ago.
Activist Justine Stephens issued a statement saying, “Summerhill's closing is a testament to the power of community. It is a statement to all businesses looking to move into rapidly gentrifying areas that says: you are a guest here. You should look to grow with us, or your business will not survive.”
Neighbors told News 12 they hope something positive will come in its place.
