WWE wrestler attacked during Hall of Fame induction speech
A WWE legend was attacked while he was being honored at the Barclays Center Saturday.
It happened during the WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony, where Bret "The Hitman" Hart was among the inductees.
As he gave his speech, a man jumped into the ring and attacked the 61-year-old wrestler, punching him at least once.
Several other wrestlers jumped into the ring to help Hart.
The attacker has been identified as 26-year-old Zachary Madsen.
A spokesperson for the WWE told News 12 in a statement, "An over-exuberant fan surpassed our security at ringside and made his way briefly into the ring. The individual has been turned over to the proper authorities."
Hart is expected to be OK.
Madsen is being held on several charges, including two counts of assault and criminal trespassing.
