DA Gonzalez looks to legalize consensual prostitution

Consensual prostitution could soon be legal.

District Attorney Eric Gonzalez says he believes in decriminalizing consensual prostitution and says he is interested in possibly legalizing it entirely.

A lawyer who represents sex workers says the status quo isn't working and makes people feel less safe.

The D.A. described the current policy as a soft prosecution. Cases are typically dismissed after a desk appearance ticket and social service check-up.
