People across the world, including a group in Brooklyn, marched in solidarity against sexual assault Wednesday for National Denim Day.
The event stems from a rape case in Italy in the 1990s. The victim wore tight jeans and the court initially ruled that she must have had to help her attacker remove her jeans, and in turn, gave consent.
The Brooklyn Style Foundation organized Wednesday’s event, in which a group marched over the Brooklyn Bridge in jeans.
The group consisted of speakers, a choir and dance performers. They rallied at Borough Hall before making their march.
