BROOKLYN -

The 43rd Annual Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks will take place live over the Brooklyn Bridge this year.

The event will surely attract millions of spectators to the waterways on the lower East River.

According to a news release, the Macy’s Fireworks will launch “tens of thousands of shells and effects from the bridge and from four barges positioned along the shores of Pier 17 at the Seaport District.”

“We are excited to once again work with our partners in the City of New York to make the iconic Brooklyn Bridge the star of our show,” said Susan Tercero, executive producer of Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks, in prepared remarks.

Macy’s last showcased the Brooklyn Bridge during its 2014 show.
