The city Parks Department says they are now investigating after a swan pair’s nest was destroyed and their seven eggs were taken in Prospect Park.
It is a park violation to tamper with any animal or bird, nest or their eggs. It is considered a misdemeanor offense.
W.I.L.D. for Prospect Park released a statement saying: "For years, we have been working tirelessly to give these swans a chance to survive in this cruel concrete jungle. This wasn’t even the first time and we’re just devastated that another nest was destroyed and we demand answers."
