A group of educators and parents in Williamsburg rallied together on Thursday, asking for a new community center.
The rally was held outside the century-old School Settlement Association building on Manhattan Avenue and Jackson Street..
Participants say the building doesn't have enough modern accommodations and that the gymnasium is too small to serve the growing needs of the community.
The project for the new building is estimated to cost around $23 million.
Activists, parents and children say they are asking elected officials to help fund their vision.
