Four students at SAR High School in Riverdale are heading to a national competition thanks to their prowess in finance.

The students are preparing to go to Omaha, Nebraska, for the National Personal Finance Competition.

The competition puts students to the test by giving them a financial scenario and asks them to come up with a plan. Students analyze how much should be put away for retirement, child care costs, mortgages and more.

Their attendance at the national competition is a first for a team that just began to compete this year. They already have taken home the state title.

The team heads out to Nebraska Thursday. The competition will be held Friday.
