Bishop Kearney High School to shut down this summer
More than 100 students are looking for a new school after Bishop Kearney High School announced it will be shutting its doors this summer.
The all-girls high school has been around for 58 years.
School administrators say the decision is a result of declining enrollment, changing demographics and increasing costs. The rest of the school year will be finished as planned, but students who are not graduating will have to transfer to another school.
Bishop Kearny High School held an open house Monday evening with close to 20 other schools.
Some parents say they're still holding out hope that the school will remain open.
They also say parents should've been consulted before the decision to close the school was made.
