The Bay Ridge community got the chance to bring their concerns about the MTA straight to the top.

The New York City Transit President Andy Byford took part in a town hall meeting at Our Lady of Angel Church Tuesday.

The meeting had been months in the making.

The event was broken up into two sessions. Byford kicked it off with a presentation of the MTA's Fast Forward plan to modernize New York's transit system, then came questions from the audience.

Officials say problems like delays and overcrowded platforms and trains can be solved in part by a new signal system the MTA is rolling out.

Several people News 12 spoke to griped about the lack of an elevator at the newly renovated Bay Ridge Avenue station.

Some of the loudest applause of the night came when Byford spoke about a plan to make sure that within five years, commuters will be no more than two stops away from a wheelchair-accessible station.
