Police beef up security around Crown Heights playground
Police are increasing patrols around the newly renovated Stroud playground in response to reported gunfire incidents.
The Brooklyner reported that the schools located down the block from the playground had shelter-in incidents several times earlier this month in response to gunshots. Police tell News 12 that on Tuesday shots were fired down the block at 517 Park Place.
Police are stepping up their presence, and anti-violence groups plan to canvass the area twice a week.
Parents say the extra security goes a long way.
News 12 is told that no one was injured in any of the reported incidents of gunfire.
