BOROUGH PARK -

Community members marked the start of the Jewish holiday Lag B'Omer with festivities in Borough Park.

The celebration marks the 33rd day of the Omer, a period of time that falls between Passover and Shavuot.

Residents on 16th Avenue honored the holiday with bonfires and parades.

Those who celebrate say they will take the 24-hour period to spend time with family and friends.
