BROOKLYN -

In an effort to combat the opioid crisis, NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County is arming the public with the tools that could save lives.

Free Narcan kits were handed out at the hospital Wednesday with the help of Borough President Eric Adams's office.

The hospital also offered a training session that informed the public how to properly use Narcan.

Health professionals say even if a person was given Narcan, it is still important to call 911.
