ShotSpotter alert leads police to man shot dead in East New York

EAST NEW YORK -

A man was found in the back of an East New York building with a gunshot wound to the head Sunday.

Police tell News 12 the victim is 29 years old and lives in the area, however his name has not yet been released.

It happened just after 10 p.m., when police say a ShotSpotter alert notified them.

Officers responded to 735 Lincoln Ave. and found the 29-year-old man in the back of the building with a gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators say at this point they have no description of the suspect.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
