BUSHWICK -

Police responded to reports of a body in the ground in Bushwick Monday.

Police sources confirmed that investigators found some sort of remains in a yard on Knickerbocker Avenue, but it is unknown whether they are human or not.

Authorities were seen poking at the ground at the scene Monday afternoon before access was cut off to the area.

Around 6:30 p.m., police officers were seen walking into the area with large black garbage bags, but minutes later they walked out without anything in them.

Police blocked off three apartments for multiple hours as the investigation continued.

Sources say a forensic expert will come in Tuesday morning to determine whether the remains belong to a human or an animal.
