Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor and former “Sesame Street” star Sonia Manzano came together Saturday to read to children at Fordham University.
The women discussed their lives, living in the Bronx, going to the library and reading the encyclopedia. Sotomayor read her book, "Turning Pages: My Life Story" to a crowd and explained how books can take the reader on adventures.
Attendees say they traveled from around the city and country to see the justice and the actress speak.
Sotomayor and Manzano also spoke to children about why laws are important but not always fair, and explained why it's important to make your voice heard.
