Police: Drunk driver with child in back seat fatally struck deliveryman

A man who was hit by a drunk driver Sunday night has died, police say.
Sources say Mohammed Abdullah, 29, was on an E-bike making an Uber Eats delivery when a car came speeding down Avenue D in Canarsie and struck him, sending him flying. He was later pronounced dead at a hospital.
Police say Treasure Liggins, 22, was drunk when she lost control of her car. They say her 4-year-old daughter was in the back seat at the time of the crash. Liggins faces manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide and DWI charges.
Abdullah's East New York roommates say they were badgering him to come home, and that the delivery he was on at the time of the incident was supposed to be his last of the night.
After a period of quietness, concern started to creep in. He didn't accept his friend's calls and an app tracking his location showed he wasn't moving. They drove to his location where they received the heart-breaking news.
Abdullah's roommates say he came to the U.S. from Bangladesh just a few years ago and tried to make ends meet by delivering food.
