Cancer survivors gathered at Dyker Beach Golf Course Wednesday to celebrate themselves this National Cancer Survivors Day.
Survivors and patients of all ages celebrated their bravery and courage as they fought - or are still fighting - cancer.
The celebration was organized by Maimonides Medical Center. This year, the theme of the celebration was “Under the Sea.”
The patients said they wanted to thank the staff at Maimonides Medical Center for sticking by their sides during rough times.
"So this is our chance as a world-class cancer center to say thank you to our patients. This is really about giving back to those people that have entrusted their care to us,” said Patrick Borgan, of Maimonides Medical Center.
