Formula E racing returns to Red Hook this month

Formula E racing is returning to Brooklyn for its season finale later this month.
Officials say the races will feature a new kind of electric car on the Red Hook racetrack.
"These cars are powered by generators that are charged through a fuel called ‘aqua fuel,’” says Mike Hopper, an adviser to Formula E. “It's basically sugar and water that powers these race cars, so we have been really thoughtful about how we put this series together."
The races are on the July 13-14. Tickets are free for those who live in the community and children younger than 12. Otherwise, they are $12.
