There was plenty of art on display at Commodore Barry Park Thursday for the 48th annual International African Arts Festival.
Organizers said they had close to 250 vendors from Africa, the Caribbean, Brooklyn and around the world.
Each of them showcased and celebrated the beauty of African culture through sculptures, clothing, jewelry, paintings and more.
The festival also pays tribute to the East Organization – a group that focuses on bringing African American families together and providing a space for them to express themselves.
The celebration falls in conjunction with the organization’s 50th anniversary, expanding on their initial mission to inspire and grow.
