Police: 4 people shot in East New York; person of interest in custody

EAST NEW YORK -
Four people were shot on Elton Street in East New York, and police say they have a person of interest in custody. 
 
The incident happened on Elton Street after 12 a.m.
 
Police say a 24-year-old woman was shot in the shoulder, a 28-year-old man was shot in the neck, a 30-year-old man was shot in the chest, and another 30-year-old man was shot in the back.
 
Neighbors in the area tell News 12 police broke up a large party in the street before the incident.
 
They say loud fireworks could be heard going off followed by gunfire. 
 
One neighbor says the closest police precinct in just a block away and that he feels unsafe and concerned about his five children. Another neighbor told News 12 this is an annual tradition for the block and they never had any problems in the past.
 
Officials are unsure if the victims were intended targets.  
 
Police say they have a person of interest in custody, but are still looking for the weapon connected to the shooting.
 
Police say charges have not yet been filed.
