PROSPECT HEIGHTS -

Community activists are rallying against the NYPD amid a controversial video showing an officer arresting a man and pointing a gun at civilians in a public park.

Activists gathered in Prospect Heights to call out the 78th Precinct officer.

In the video, the officer can be seen arresting a man – kneeling on his head, while pointing his gun and telling people to get back.

That incident took place at Dean Street near Sixth Avenue in Prospect Heights last Friday.

In a separate news conference, NYPD Commissioner James O'Neill said that “policing is a difficult job” when asked about the incident

Activists say they plan to continue advocating for justice in this incident, and that they won't stop until something is done.

News 12 reached out to the NYPD press office for a statement about Thursday’s rally.
