Authorities: 2 suspects accused in several similar robberies near Prospect Park

Two men are accused of a robbery spree near Prospect Park, police say.
They say in three different incidents, the suspects threatened their victims with a weapon before taking their phones and wallets.
The first robbery occurred on July 1 just after 10 p.m. outside of 180 Prospect Place. Police say the two men robbed a 37-year-old man.
A few days later, a group of three people in their early 20s were robbed by the suspects who showed the victims a hand gun before getting away with two cellphones and wallets.
Investigators say another incident happened one day later around 10:30 p.m. when three people were robbed of their belongings.
Police say there were three thieves in the last incident. They are accused of assaulting a 25-year-old man as they fled from that scene.
Neighbors say crimes aren't typical of the area and are worried for their children.
"My kids are teens and thy come up here a lot so we had to talk about maybe staying away from the park after dark or early in the morning," one resident said.
Investigators say all of the incidents happened late at night.
