Residents upset annual concert series will not continue this year

Some residents are upset an annual concert series will not be held this year.
Former Sen. Jeff Klein put on the Summertime Symphonies concert for more than a decade. Different music groups like The Temptations, Commodores and Eddie Money, would perform at different parks throughout the 34th District.
Now, residents say their summer fun is being neglected under Sen. Alessandra Biaggi.
In a statement Biaggi told News 12 the concerts were not funded by the state, but by Klein's campaign funds.
"It is my priority to lead with integrity and that requires being ethical and deliberative of how I use my campaign funds and maintaining clear lines between campaign and government," Biaggi said. "I will not accept corporate donations from the real estate industry, lobby or fossil fuel companies who try to influence my vote. I want this district to have everything it needs and more, and I will fight like hell to make sure those needs are met."
