A trio of Bronx siblings is being praised for cleaning up their neighborhood after a video of them went viral.
Zayne, Grace and Melodie Njikeng were caught on camera by their father cleaning the sidewalk that they walk on every day.
Zayne asked his dad why they had to walk over trash, and when his father couldn't give him an answer they got to work. The siblings put on hats, masks for protection and grabbed rakes and brooms. The viral video got over 20,000 views.
"I don't expect it, you know, I didn't do it because of that, you're just having fun with the kids serving and I posted not because I wanted it to go viral, but because I just want to get the attention of the elected officials in the Bronx so they can do something," says the children's father, Cyrille Njikeng.
The viral video caught the attention of Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. who met with the three children and awarded them for their work.
The whole family is hoping that their actions will encourage others to take care of the community.
