The excessive heat caused a bridge in Middletown to be briefly stuck Saturday.
The drawbridge over the Navesink River between Rumson and Middletown was affected. The metal on the bridge expanded and workers struggled to get it to lock back in place.
The bridge was closed for about an hour before normal operations resumed.
