GREENPOINT -

A four-alarm fire in Greenpoint left five firefighters with minor injuries early Thursday morning.

The fire broke out in a restaurant supply warehouse at 259 Monitor St. in Greenpoint around 12:30 a.m.

Officials say more than 168 firefighters with 39 units arrived at the scene.

The fire marshal is investigating the cause of the blaze.

The chief told News 12 at first they started fighting the fire from the inside and later battled it from the outside because it was too dangerous.

The fire chief says they have been in touch with the owner of the restaurant supply store.
