Residents in one area of Bath Beach say they are concerned for their safety because there is no street lamp on one block.

They say a light post used to be on Bay 16th Street, next to Bath Beach Park, but that it was taken down at least three months ago.

Assemblyman William Colton told News 12 the light post was damaged, and that the Department of Transportation took it away but did not replace it.

Colton said he asked the department to fix the issue, but nothing has been done so far. At one point, Colton said he was told the address was invalid and that they could not find where the light was needed.

Neighbors say they won't feel safe until the light comes back on.
