Tuesday marked National Night Out, when communities around the country spend time with their local police precincts.

News 12's Hannah Kliger was in East New York, where the celebration took place within the confines of the 75th Precinct.

The goal of the evening's events was to build strong relationships with the police officers tasked with keeping the community safe.

Elected officials and activists presented their local officers with certificates, thanking them for their service.
